NON-TOXIC CLEANING PRODUCTS
Did you know there are a lot of chemicals that we encounter every day just inside our home? Many of these harmful chemicals are hidden in our conventional household cleaning products. In fact, it is estimated that the air inside our home is approx. 2-5 times more polluted than the air outside, with most contaminates coming from household cleaning products and air fresheners.
It can feel really overwhelming when you first learn this, but at KEEPER Denim, we’re here to remind you that you don’t need to eliminate 100% of the chemicals you use, just aim to reduce them to a low level that your body is able to process and eliminate them.
WHY SHOULD I SWITCH TO NON-TOXIC CLEANING PRODUCTS?
Unfortunately, companies are not required by law to list all the ingredients used in many cleaning products, only the ones that are known to be harmful. That sounds alright, doesn’t it? Well, given that many of the chemicals are largely untested and we don’t know the effects of long terms exposure to them, this can be a problem. One of the key things to look for and avoid in an ingredients list is ‘fragrance’. Companies do not have to reveal what chemicals they use to make the ‘fragrance’ of their products, which commonly includes harmful ingredients. Safer options to consider would be vinegar or castor oil based products.
